Editorial Policy
Updated April 8, 2026. This page explains how TownSquare approaches original publishing, user-generated content quality, and ad experience.
1) Original Content Standards
TownSquare publishes original, human-authored content on product direction, social media quality, and healthier online discussion. We do not publish scraped article archives, spun content, or duplicate pages created only for search ranking.
Blog and documentation updates are written to answer specific user questions and include concrete examples from our platform’s features and moderation model.
2) User-Generated Content and Moderation
TownSquare includes user-generated posts and responses. Content is subject to community guidelines, user reporting, and moderation review tools. Accounts and content that violate policy may be limited or removed.
We continuously improve spam detection, toxicity review, and moderation workflows to keep public pages useful and safe.
3) Advertising Principles
Ads should support—not interrupt—the reading experience. We avoid deceptive placement patterns and clearly separate editorial content from paid units.
We do not gate informational pages behind account requirements. Public pages are indexable and readable, while posting and account actions remain authenticated.
4) Transparency and Accountability
Core policy pages are publicly available: Privacy, Terms, Cookies, Community Guidelines, and Contact.
If you have policy concerns, send them through Contact. We review and update this page as standards evolve.
